Electronic Data Interchange

EDI has been used for the last 20 years across the world. It is international standard for business documents exchange in digital form, and represents common language in which computer systems automatically exchange orders, dispatches, invoices and other trade documents. The idea is to put in electronic form all documents used in a chain from ordering, dispatch information, inventory report, invoicing with electronic signature, totally independent to which information systems is used by Retailer and/or Supplier. Our role as EDI providers is to provide integration of all participants in this process to a system that has been working for decades perfectly. With this system, there is no need to hire human resources because all documents flows digitally from one system to another, which brings errors to a minimum level and generally cuts expenses with speed up of service and raise quality of service. Clients who are using this system are more competitive on the market.

Biggest Retailers like Delta Maxi and Metro, has already started EDI implementation for message exchange with suppliers, with a plan to make it a standard and requirement till the end of 2009. GS1 Serbia – international organization for standardization, in cooperation with Chamber of Commerce Serbia and EDI providers, has organized EDI conference in Hyatt Regency on 23th of October 2008. More for this topic can be found on GS1 Serbia site, but you can download here part of our presentation with most appropriate scenario for EDI connection.
